As an experiment of cooperative learning & flipped classroom I have created a project called Chronoguide in my 4th- and 5th-year students (the last two years of secondary school in Italy, roughly equivalent to British sixth-form college).
Students are invited to create a sort of tourist guide to the English-speaking countries through the centuries, choosing key people, events and places and producing materials of different kinds (documents, profiles, videos, maps…).
The aim is to elaborate and expand the information presented in my ESL culture and literature lessons so as to make them more personal, closer to the students’ perception and tastes, and more study-friendly.
